Brian and Kathi Draper of Fairplay, Md., announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Beth Draper, to Ryan Allen Downey, son of Lonnie Downey Jr. and Diane Fake of Glen Burnie, Md.

Miss Draper is a 2002 graduate of Williamsport High School. She is a 2006 graduate of Frostburg State University graduate where she earned her bachelor's degree in secondary education social sciences. She is pursuing a master's degree in college student development and administration at Shepherd University. She is employed as Student Community Services Programming assistant at Shepherd University.

Mr. Downey is a 2002 graduate of Glen Burnie High School. He is a 2008 graduate of Frostburg State University where he received a bachelor's degree in computer science. He is pursuing a master's degree in computer science from Hood College. He is employed as a government contractor.

An Oct. 10, 2010, wedding is planned in Martinsburg, W.Va.
