Charles and Denise Baer of Greencastle, Pa., announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley M. Baer of St. Cloud, Fla., to Matthew S. Hopchak, son of Ed and Carol Hopchak of Evington, Va.

Miss Baer is a 2004 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School. She is a 2006 graduate of Brooks College in Long Beach, Calif., where she earned an associate's degree in fashion design. She is a costume coordinator at the Disney Event Group for the Walt Disney World Company in Orlando, Fla.

Mr. Hopchak is a 2003 graduate of Rustburg High School and a 2007 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va., where he majored in English with a minor in philosophy. He is a captain in the U.S. Army.

A summer 2011 wedding is planned.
