Watkins-Browning

Laura Elizabeth Browning and Christopher Franklin Watkins were married Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Liberty Mountain Resort in Fairfield, Pa.

The Rev. Dale Carver officiated.

The bride was escorted by her brother, Thomas Browning, and was given in marriage by her mother, Nancy Browning. The bride wore an ivory mermaid-style gown with Alenon lace overlay and a scalloped hem. The gown had a sweetheart neckline and a semi-cathedral train, as well as a crystal-and-pearl beaded sash. She carried a purple, cream and lavender bouquet of roses, snapdragons and alstroemeria.

The maid of honor and dear friend of the bride was Christine Burgesser of Clear Spring. Bridesmaids were Amanda Richardson of Edgewood, Md., Sharon Nickerson of Cabin John, Md., both longtime friends of the bride; and Christine Ramsey of Atlanta, Ga., cousin of the bride.

Flower girls were Jozlyn and Jeannette Watkins of Hagerstown, nieces of the groom.

The best man was Matthew Solmonoff of Charleston, S.C., longtime friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Mark Eaton of Wilmington, N.C., cousin of the groom; and William Hoagland of Frederick, Md., friend of the groom.

The happy couple were wed in an outdoor mountainside ceremony, followed by a dinner reception at Boulder Ridge Lodge. The Neil Wright Band provided the evening's entertainment.

The bride is the daughter of Nancy Browning of Hagerstown and the late Bradford Browning. She is a 2006 graduate of Grace Academy. In 2009, she received a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in management from Salisbury University. She co-owns and operates TranquilaTEA Tea Room and Gift Shop in Waynesboro, Pa.

The groom is the son of Franklin and Marie Watkins of Fairplay. He is a 2006 graduate of Washington County Technical High School and a 2008 graduate of the Navy Nuclear Power School in Charleston, S.C. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in nuclear energy engineering from Thomas Edison State College. He is a Petty Officer First Class in the U.S. Navy. He serves as a nuclear reactor mechanical maintenance Machinist's Mate and has been stationed for shore duty as a recruiter in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

The newlyweds honeymooned at the Ladera in St. Lucia.

The couple splits their time between their homes in Dallas, Pa., and Waynesboro, Pa.
